Capacity to the max

The HIAB X-HiPRO 548 is one of HIAB's 'Big Five' compact remote-controlled cranes. And while it's light in weight, it’s a heavyweight when it comes to capacity. With help from its E-link boom system, the X-HiPRO 548 truck-mounted crane can lift heavy, bulky 9.9- tonne (9900 kg) loads in high boom positions close-in to the column – quickly, safely, smoothly and powerfully – no matter how tough the conditions.

Maximum stability and payloads

Heavy-duty cranes often work in situations where stability and avoiding operator error are crucial. The HIAB X-HiPRO 548 is designed with safety and stability features that keep the operator, and the payload, in mind. Easy-tilt auxiliary legs are integrated into the hydraulic and electronic systems for critical support and control. They work with the crane's Load Stability System (LSS), which automatically senses and counteracts abrupt stops that cause the load to swing, with no action required by the operator. The optional VSL+ safety system automatically senses and adjusts the crane capacity to leg positions and the truck's total weight. It can be added to your configuration to maximize stability even more.

The X-HiPRO 548’s perfect weight-to-capacity ratio (more capacity and less weight) maximizes fuel economy and saves you money , and its innovative design reduces delivery and installation times so that you can do more and do it faster. A 9-metre chain-driven stabilizer ensures the best possible rigidity in any possible position. It doubles speed and cuts extension time in half, so set-up and stowing times are quicker and easier. A new base-mounted oil tank makes installation, access and maintenance easy too. And the V200 valve delivers much higher oil flows, lower oil temperatures, less wear and tear, fewer emissions and maximum speed. It makes the X-HiPRO 548 a dynamo on mining sites and other tough jobs where huge, heavy loads are the norm.

The X-HiPRO 548 operates on HiPRO, the industry's most advanced remote control system. The XSDrive™ feature has a built-in intelligence system for precise load handling – with the touch of a lever or the available joystick, your crane can respond simultaneously to more than 30 different functions. In addition to capacity-increasing Automatic Speed Control (ASC) further increases capacity, and the X-HiPro 548 has smooth performance – no sudden and unanticipated load accelerations – thanks to Pump Flow Distribution (PFD).
