You don’t need a fleet when you have a MULTILIFT XR8 truck-mounted hooklift. These models offer a wide range of transport, lifting, hauling, and dumping options in a single small package. XR8 models (XR8.32, XR8.36, XR8.41, and special-style XR8.36 with slide-through body locks) provide fast cycle times and versatile load handling. Easily switch between different types of container bodies from 14 to 17 ft, in under two minutes, to handle just about any 18,000 lb capacity load with a single-axle truck and operator. A high 50-degree dump angle ensures quick, clean dumping of even the stickiest or most compacted loads. A plumbed, pre-mounted three-spool electric control valve streamlines simultaneous lifting, tilting, and locking actions from inside the cabin. A wide-opening 54-inch hook height gives small trucks more leverage and a clearer tipping angle for larger containers.

The XR8’s 'S' hook system and centred, square-profile boom boost lifting precision, making it easier to pick up containers at various angles. Together, they deliver bigger payloads, smoother operation, reduced wear and tear, lower maintenance, and greater uptime. And the 50-degree tipping angle, combined with twin lifting cylinders, reduces strain on your equipment for longer life.

A heavy-duty single-plate subframe with high-pressure dual hydraulic dump lift cylinders and twin-pivot engineering make load handling fully functional–faster, easier, more efficient and safer. Ten mounting plates keep the subframe securely mounted to the truck chassis for improved durability, performance, and a more flexible installation. A separate seven-gallon oil tank with an in-tank return filter for frame mounting optimizes space, makes oil changes easier, and reduces spills.

Even more versatility

Need even more versatility? The hook height on the special-style XR8.36 can be manually adjusted from 36” to 54”. The 36” hook height is perfect for smaller, lighter, or specialized containers, allowing for easy, automatic tarping and enhanced stability on smaller trucks. Bigger loads? Easily adjust it to 54”. Job done.

You can take that up another notch with an optional factory-ordered, manually adjustable, dual-height hook with a 54” to 62” range, or optional hydraulic body locks to allow you to transport shorter bodies with the hook arm back. You can also opt to change out the ‘S’-hook system for a Multilift ‘Z’-hook. This sliding system moves the hook arm forward and backward during tipping, ideal for high-precision, height-restricted areas that require the container to be lifted at a low angle and at a reduced lifting height. The ‘Z’-hook makes it easier to pull containers from soft or uneven ground, or to distribute material like gravel or sand more evenly.

Safety, always

Superior safety is at the forefront of every Multilift truck-mounted hooklift. XR8 models feature a mechanical frame lock that secures the middle and rear frames during tipping, a tipping interlock mechanism that locks the hook arm during dumping and holding valves on the main and hook arm cylinders to protect against load drop and hose failure. Load-handling valves are positioned directly on the cylinders. Drivers can use the 12V electric control box in-cab or externally for safety and flexibility.
