Its advanced power management system (4350 psi (16 USGPM) of hydraulic pressure) lets you haul, dump, and tip 35,000 lb with minimal effort, reduced fuel consumption, and virtually no maintenance. It’s perfect for just about any load and is particularly popular in waste management.

Power, precision and efficiency

Many operators consider Multilift truck-mounted hooklifts to be the “best of the best.” They give operators increased control, capacity, speed, and productivity on every job—without compromising safety. One key reason is Multilifts’ patented Sliding ‘S’ hook arm with box construction.

Twin main tipping cylinders ensure superior side-to-side stability and balance, making them ideal for heavy-duty, uneven loads such as those found in waste management. They also provide increased dumping strength. Dividing the load between cylinders lets the ULT 14FX handle heavy-duty 35,000 lb. payloads with less stress on the sub-frame. A 50-degree dump angle ensures a cleaner, more complete dump, important for loose, messy loads. Multilift Flex (the FX in the name) delivers fingertip control on the umbilical. Ultra-strong, durable construction, high-performance parts, and rust-resistant nanotechnology nDurance coating contribute to long life, low cost, virtually no maintenance, the highest resale value in the industry, and Multilift’s reputation as the Canadian Industry Standard (CIS).

Mechanical or hydraulic body locks—common elements

Multilift 14FX models are available with either mechanical (mech) or hydraulic (hyd) body locks. The ULT 14.41 FX (mech only), 14.46 FX, 14.51 FX, 14.53 FX, and 14.56 FX Multilift hooklift models share important key features: a 50-degree dump angle, Multilift’s unique sliding ‘S’-hook technology and box construction, and twin main tipping cylinders. They share many other features as well, including a mechanical frame lock that locks the middle and rear frames during tipping. Both mechanical and hydraulic models feature a three-spool electric control valve, pre-mounted and full-plumbed, a separate 20-gallon oil tank with an in-tank return filter for easy access and increased capacity, a safety interlock to lock out the hook arm while dumping, and holding valves on the main and hook arm cylinders to protect against load drop and hose failure. ULTIMA 14FX Mech and HYD models also share.

Here’s how they differ

ULTIMA 14FX handle a range of body lengths, from 15 to 21 feet, or 13 to 15 feet with the hook arm back. That range varies with the 14.41FX-MECH (14 to 17-ft bodies) and the 14.56FX-HYD, which can handle a 22-ft body. Mechanical (MECH) models feature mechanical body locks with a pull-limiter. Hydraulic (HYD) body lock models allow transport of shorter bodies with the hook arm back. They feature Multilift FLEX, a PLC-operated electric fingertip control on an umbilical cord, and Friction Relief, which automatically raises the front of the container before sliding for smooth operation. These two features are optional on MECH models.

Available options differ, too. ULT 14FX Mech models offer an upgrade to a manually adjustable 54-62” hook. Hydraulic body lock models offer options for Auto Sequence, Fast Speed and Fast Tipping, as well as factory-installed Auto Sequence Controls. Automatic Sequence control unlocks/locks the container body, then moves the hook and main arms in sequence with one easy control motion. Fast Speed and Fast Tipping make unloading and dumping an empty container faster.

‘ULTIMA’ safety

The ULTIMA 14FX model comes with a load of safety features, including a mechanical frame lock that secures the middle and rear frames during tipping, a safety interlock that secures the hook arm out when dumping, and holding valves on the main and hook arm cylinders to protect against load drop and hose failure. JIC hydraulic fittings and a high-pressure filter protect the ULTIMA 14FX’s hydraulic system. ULT 14FX models also feature a plumbed, pre-mounted three-spool electric control valve, and a separate 20 Imperial gallon oil tank with an in-tank return filter for frame mounting.

Accessories can be an added bonus

Adding optional accessories to your MULTILIFT ULTIMA 14FX truck-mounted hooklift can be an added bonus for your business. Add polypropylene, steel or aluminum checkerplate tandem or lift-axle fenders. Add a medium- or heavy-duty towing package, HD rear and quad-view cameras, a range of LED lighting options, or pintle plates. Add custom body locks, switch the ULT16-HYD model to an aluminum oil tank. Cover your load with one of two electric Rollrite tarp systems and weatherproof your stuff with an aluminum toolbox.
